We’re not there yet…
But people are working to make that headline a reality.
You can find them at the Centre for Social Innovation.
Meet the people making Canadian progressive policy a reality.
Practical plans to realize our wildest policy ambitions with The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.
The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA), a member at CSI’s Annex location, is a national progressive policy think thank—turning vital calls for justice into practical and pursuable plans. Since 1980 the CCPA has done independent research on social, economic, and environmental issues—producing foundational reports, initiatives, and research for a better world.

For 40+ years the CCPA’s initiatives have used people and the planet as a focal point for policy innovation.
Their flagship annual project is an Alternative Federal Budget, heavily researched and written by leaders in various national policy areas. It’s an expert-led “what if” project that paints a detailed picture of a government that is actually committed to an economic, social, and environmental agenda that reflects the values of the majority of Canadians.
