Ontario is net zero. How? Renewable
energy is heating where we live and work.
Major cost reductions in geothermal heating + cooling helped the province reach net zero ahead
of its 2050 goal.

We’re not there yet…
But people are working to make that headline a reality.
You can find them at the Centre for Social Innovation.
Meet the people making Canadian progressive policy a reality.
How cities could be heated with renewable
geothermal energy in our lifetime—thanks
to Innovia GEO.
Innovia GEO was a member of the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI)’s Earth Tech program, where they honed their innovative approach to making geothermal heating and cooling cheaper, and more sustainable. Their approach represents a revolution in heating/cooling infrastructure that could strengthen local economies while helping cities reach their net-zero targets.

Right now, accessing geothermal sources of heating and cooling is expensive and disruptive. Innovia GEO has developed products and an approach that allow you to tap into renewable geothermal heating sources without drilling as deep.
By reducing the disruption and price of this approach to heating/cooling Innovia has made broad adoption more viable, and the chances of us reaching our energy reduction targets higher.
