We’re not there yet…
But people are working to make that headline a reality.
You can find them at the Centre for Social Innovation.
Meet the people making Canadian progressive policy a reality.
How community-led water testing could revitalize
our lakes and rivers—thanks to Water
Rangers.
Water Rangers, a member of The Centre for Social Innovation (CSI)’s Earth Tech program, is creating easy-to-use water quality data testing kits and an open water data sharing app so that everyday citizens like you and I can find out how our local waterways are doing.

Water stewardship relies on baseline data that just doesn’t exist. Scientists simply don’t know how most of our waterways are doing. Most of the time, they don’t have the resources to find out. The solution? Community-led science.
Water Rangers is empowering thousands of people to take care of their water ways by collecting data to share. With this data, scientists and policy makers can develop better initiatives and approaches to keeping our lakes and rivers healthy.
